Behold the Lamb of God, which by righteousness takes away the sin of the world (10:3)
According to the bible, Jesus “takes away” the sins of the world. Mind you, this does not say “forgives” the sins of the world. The key here is “takes way”. If something is taken away, it doesn’t exist any more. If they continue, they are not taken away. Just believing doesn’t make them go away.
The whole point of Jesus was to bring people to repentance. That means they have a complete turn around. It doesn’t make sense if someone says they have repented and they just go on living the way they always did. What kind of change is that? The sin hasn’t been “taken away” at all.

Taking away sins doesn’t mean that the sins are merely forgiven, but that the sins cease, they are gone, they stopped being committed. But what Christianity teaches today is “All you need to do is believe and you are saved.” Is that how Jesus “takes away” sins? Just by forgiving people when they say they believe in Jesus? So they can just go out and live the way they want to and they’ll still be “saved” (whatever that means…) anyway. If living and applying Jesus’ teaching isn’t the way he takes away the sins of the world, they how are the sins taken away?

James, the brother of Jesus, taught that you needed to have works, not only faith:
Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Paul taught that you can’t depend on works for salvation, only faith — exactly the opposite of what Jesus and his brother James taught.
Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse:
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Tit 3:5 Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us,
Rom 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
(If you believe in Jesus’ teachings, you can’t believe in Paul’s also!)
Jesus taught in Matthew 25 that those who do good deeds to others are righteous sheep and those who do not do good deeds to others are unrighteous goats. The goats “go to away into everlasting punishment” and the “righteous into life eternal”. (Mat 25:31-46)
According to the Nicene Creed anyone who doesn’t believe that Jesus is God is “condemned by the holy catholic and apostolic Church”"
But those who say: ‘There was a time when he was not;’ and ‘He was not before he was made;’ and ‘He was made out of nothing,’ or ‘He is of another substance’ or ‘essence,’ or ‘The Son of God is created,’ or ‘changeable,’ or ‘alterable’-they are condemned by the holy catholic and apostolic Church.
Now the way I understand it, if one is condemned, he is not saved. If one is not saved, it is unending torment in hell for an eternity. And according to the church there is no chance to make amends and get out of hell — just because you believed the wrong way!
Also for your salvation you have to believe that Jesus was God incarnate in human flesh born of a virgin:
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven,
was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary
and became truly human.
If you don’t believe the “correct way” of the church, you go to hell forever — no second chance!
Did Jesus die for your sins?
Jesus was a Jew, therefore he kept the law. He taught that whoever broke the law and taught others to break it would be the least in the kingdom. Moreover, Jesus considered keeping the law made one righteous.
Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Since Jesus followed the law to the jot and tittle, he would not have died for anyone since the law states that no man shall die for the sins of another.
Deu 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the father. Every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
Eze 18:20 The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Jesus did NOT bear the iniquities of anyone. This is a false doctrine that St Paul started and was promoted by the church fathers of the Pauline faith.
Isa 53:11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
If this translation and interpretation were correct then this would create a contradiction. There has to be something seriously wrong with this.
Why did Jesus die then?
Pilate asked Jesus if he was the king of the Jews. Jesus confessed and told him “Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world” (Joh 18:37). But Pilate knew that he was innocent “For he knew that the chief priests had delivered him for envy.” (Mar 15:10)
The Jews falsely accused him of blasphemy, “For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.” (Joh 10:33) But Jesus didn’t make himself equal to God at all, “my Father is greater than I” (Joh 14:28). Since Jesus was in full compliance with the law he didn’t blaspheme and he never claimed to be God or even equal to God.
Jesus, being a high priest, did not practice the ritual of animal sacrifice, but as John the Baptist and his disciples he practiced baptism for the remission of sins instead. In fact, the ritual of animal sacrifice ended in the temple after the execution of Jesus and baptism is the only thing we read about in the book of Acts. Furthermore, the apostles must have considered the practice of animal sacrifice idolatry since they prohibited the new converts from sacrificing things to idols and abstaining from strangled things.
Act 15:29 That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well.

* actually, jesus did forgive sin. this is part of why the pharisees were so angry. in the case of the paralytic who was brought in through the roof, He forgave sin. yet only God has the power to forgive sin. if only God has the power to forgive sin, why was Jesus forgiving a man who had never done anything against Jesus? clearly this is one of the ways He showed Himself to be God in the flesh. what do you say about this?
* if “everlasting punishment” doesn’t mean torment (hell) what does it mean? you mentioned in other articles that people will live several lives so they can get themselves together and live as Jesus commanded, and also that there is no hell … but you just in this article cited a place where even Jesus said the wicked will get everlasting punishment. what, then, could this everlasting punishment be? how do you explain this?
* the isaiah verse you quoted said He shall bear their iniquities. how else could He do this except by receiving their punishment in His body on the cross?
thanks for your remarks.
I forgive sins also, but does that make me god?
This is not even close to being a good reason since anyone can forgive sins. In fact, one of the things Jesus was trying to teach through this act was that we should follow his example and forgive others. Jesus was accused of blasphemy for forgiving sins, since if only God could forgive sins then that would make him be saying that he is God — which would be blasphemy.
According to the Jews, anyone claiming to be God would be commiting a blasphemy, which it actually would be. This is another reason Jesus couldn’t be God is that if he claimed to be God he would be commiting blasphemy, which Jesus did not and would never do.

Everlasting punishment
I do believe there is some kind of punishment — what it is I have no clue. But I am sure that it is not excruciating, unrelenting pain and torture for eternity. A loving, merciful and forgiving God wouldn’t do that. Another thing is that the translation for everlasting is incorrect. A more correct translation would be “age-lasting”, since the word “aion” means “age”. (See: http://truthorheresy.com/scriptural-proof-aion-age-not-eternal)
Punishment may last 100 years, 1000 years or more, but it’s not eternal nor is it merciless torture. There is a purpose for everything that God does and God loves even the sinner (we’re all sinners, aren’t we). This punishment is for the sinner’s correction, to make him better and to get him to repent — however long that may take. All men will eventually be saved.
Bad Translation
I’m not a translator, but from what I’ve read that verse was wrongly translated on purpose. What it really said, I don’t really know
