Years ago, when I was still so confused about what the real truth about things were and still shocked over realizing false the religion was that I had come out of shortly before, I had been praying sincerely for the Lord to show me what the real truth about things was. At this particular time I was really questioning the doctrine of Reincarnation. I had heard about it from different people and had read about it in books etc. But I was not really convinced having had a pretty strong indoctrination AGAINST Reincarnation. In fact, I had even written up a tract that I was going to have printed up by the thousands and distribute to fight what I thought was a false doctrine. Yet, still there were doubts in my mind, I kept going back and forth.

I remember that I had been praying really fervently at this specific time about if Reincarnation was true or not, whether or not it was a reality. I was claiming verses like “ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free”, and “If any man lack wisdom let him ask of God and it shall be given him…”, and “Call unto me and I will answer thee and show thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not”, and “Ask and ye shall receive…” — all those kinds of verses. Well, if God was trying to show me the truth, it just wasn’t getting through since I was still going back and forth, back and forth on the issue — I just wasn’t convinced.

So this one night after a very fervent prayer I had a dream — or at least I thought it was a dream. It was kind of a mixture… I dreamed that there was a field of men working, it seemed like on some kind of construction. It was kind of one of those normal dreams that everybody has, but right in the middle of it something came into it that wasn’t a part of the dream at all. It was a huge angel glowing and full of thousands of eyes! In the dream all of the workers got scared and ran away. I knew that something strange was happening, this wasn’t a normal part of the dream. So I forced myself to wake up. I know I was awake since the dream went away and my eyes were open. The one incredible part of this… experience… was that the angel that was in the dream stayed! The angel seemed like he was at least as tall as the ceiling and was huge. He was just full of light all over and full of eyes. His body was just so full of light that the light radiated and I felt some kind of energy flow all through my body. I’m not sure how long this event took, but as I kept looking at him he gradually just faded away.

After he left I started praying and I wondered what this could actually mean. And as I thought about it I remembered that just before I went to sleep what I had been praying about. As you can imagine, I realized that this could only have been an answer to my fervent and sincere prayers. After this happening I began reading things about Reincarnation from both perspectives: both for and against. It was then it became clear to me that the only things that made real sense were the things that spoke of the evidence of Reincarnation. The things that I read that were against Reincarnation were things that seemed to be made up to try and defend the position of the doctrine of the church which was against the doctrine of Reincarnation and there was no true evidence or facts, only a lot of theory.
